Yoni Steaming Myths, Part 4

Myth #4: Doctors don’t recommend vaginal steaming.

To cut right to the chase: Most doctors who advise against pelvic steaming are doing this because they don’t know anything about how it works or how to do it safely, so if they recommend it and a patient gets negative results (usually from trying it without the guidance of a practitioner), the doctor can be held legally responsible for any harm that occurred.

There are more & more doctors in the US who are advocates for vaginal steaming, and even some who are using it in clinical practice.

The vast majority of negative press we see about this practice is not actually fact-checked or evidence-based. Most articles are written from a certain bias, and they consult only with people who agree with their perspective (whether the person has been educated about vaginal steaming or not).

Remember, if someone hasn’t experienced steaming, spoken with anyone who has tried it, or learned about it from a reputable teacher, then anything they might say about the practice is purely speculation.
